"The work involves commitment, pain, and a giving of oneself, and yet all of it is essentially a joyous experience." ~Sidney Lumet, American Film Director

Chloe DeJong Hilden has been creating since she was a little girl. One day in a college sculpture class a variety of materials came together to form the piece “All is Claimed” and she has been pursuing mixed media assemblage, collage, and relief sculptures ever since. In addition to her mixed media work, Chloe enjoys working in both black & white and color photography.

Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Chloe has spent the majority of her life in the Minneapolis-area, venturing to Richmond, Virginia and then to rural Iowa for college earning a degree in Fine Arts from Dordt College. After becoming a mom in December 2006, Chloe left her position as the Communications Director at First Baptist Church in Minneapolis to dedicate her time fully to motherhood and the more intentional pursuit of her art making. She also serves as an Artist-in-Resident through COMPAS' Writers and Artists in the Schools Program, which works with schools and communities throughout Minnesota.

Chloe is currently the Membership Director for the Robbin Gallery, where she held her first major solo exhibition in 2007. She has shown her work in several small-scale venues and in numerous group exhibitions. Her work is held in the Dordt College Permanent Collection and in private collections in the United States and Spain.

Chloe works from the studio in her home in Robbinsdale.
